Help Support Bryan, Katie & Ellie

Our horse community is coming together to support a very special family who could use our help right now.

Bryan Kirby, owner of Redtail Ranch, western coach for the Appalachian State University equestrian team and NRHA trainer was recently seriously injured in a horse riding accident. His injuries required major surgery, and he now faces an extensive road of rehabilitation and recovery.

For those who know Bryan, it’s hard to put into words just how much he means to the people around him. Bryan is the kind of person who has never met a stranger. He is wholehearted, generous, kind, and incredibly giving of his time and knowledge. Whether he is coaching a rider, helping someone with their horse, or simply lending a hand, Bryan has always been someone people could count on.

But above all else, Bryan is a devoted husband and father.

His wife, Katie, and their young daughter, Ellie, are now facing an incredibly difficult and uncertain time. Ellie has just started kindergarten, and instead of simply enjoying this special season as a family, they are navigating surgeries, rehabilitation, medical expenses, and the many challenges that come with Bryan being unable to work and care for his family as he normally would.

We are asking our community to come together and give this family the same kindness and generosity that Bryan has shown so many others.

Donations will help Katie and Bryan with medical expenses, rehabilitation, everyday living expenses, and the unexpected costs that come with a long recovery. No donation is too small, and every contribution will make a difference as Bryan works toward getting back on his feet and, eventually, back to the life and horses he loves.
