Compare SupportNow vs. Everyone Else
Every gift has two sides. Most comparisons only measure one of them. Here is what changes for the family receiving support, what changes for the person giving it, and what those two differences add up to.
The Family
No platform fee, and a page that carries meals and helping hands, not only money.
See what the family keeps TwoThe Supporter
No tip jar, more ways to help than cash, and we never market to a family's supporters.
See what supporters are asked ThreeWhat It Adds Up To
Two differences on the same gift. The gap is much wider than the fee.
See the full mathWhat the family actually receives
Other platforms answer one question well: how do you collect money. A family in a hard season needs more than a checkout page, and needs to keep what their community sent.
What each platform costs a family
Platform fee plus processing, on the platforms that move money to families.

Give InKind and CaringBridge do not process donations for families, so they are not priced here. Both appear in the ways to help below.
What the person giving is asked for
The other side of the gift rarely shows up in a pricing comparison, and it is where most of the money on other platforms is actually made.
Ways a supporter can help
Not everyone has money to give. Almost everyone has something.

What the two differences add up to
One community, one hard season, $10,000 in gifts of about $100 each. Here is where that money and that goodwill actually land.
$320 of the intended gifts goes to processing before any of it lands.10
At GoFundMe's suggested 17.5% tip, on top of the $10,000 they already gave.5
A second page, a group text, a spreadsheet, or nobody organizing it at all.
When supporters round up, the full intended gift lands.1
One ask, not two. It covers processing so the family receives the full intended gift, and it is what keeps meals, to-dos, and updates free.1
Included free, organized around the family's own list of what they need.
The fee is the smallest of the three differences. A family that keeps every donor's intended gift, with a community that could give more than cash, ends up somewhere very different from a family that nets 96.8% of a number on a progress bar.
One platform at a time
See exactly how SupportNow stacks up against each one, fees and features side by side.
- 1. When supporters round up, the beneficiary receives 100% of the intended gift. This is unique to SupportNow. The RoundUp is optional and covers processing costs so the rest of the platform stays free. If supporters do not round up, we are proud to offer the industry's lowest 2.7% credit card processing cost, and SupportNow never adds platform fees.
- 2. Meal Train® charges a 5% platform fee on donations. Help Hope Live charges a 3% administrative fee on online donations, and 10% on foundation and corporate gifts.
- 3. GoFundMe requires a fundraising goal and displays a progress bar on every campaign.
- 4. Donations to Help Hope Live are held by the nonprofit in a restricted fund and disbursed toward verified medical expenses rather than paid to the family.
- 5. GoFundMe tip suggestions vary by donation amount and are adjustable, including to zero.
- 6. CaringBridge states that most of its donations come from tributes on families' pages, and its pages default to a semi-private setting that asks visitors to sign in.
- 7. Based on GoFundMe donor-facing promotions of additional causes, donor advised funds, and nonprofit giving.
- 8. Give InKind links out to platforms like GoFundMe, PayPal, and Venmo for cash gifts and does not process donations itself.
- 9. CaringBridge Requests allow one helper per request, and family fundraising happens through a GoFundMe partner tile.
- 10. Based on 100 donations of $100 at GoFundMe's 2.9% + $0.30 transaction fee.
- Competitor pricing and features are drawn from each platform's published pricing, terms, and help documentation, as of July 2026.
