Dear family and friends,
I'm reaching out to share something important. My mom, Tammy, was just diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia/Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma (CLL/SLL) with Cardiomyopathy and HFrEF (Heart Failure with reduced Ejection Fraction).
August 17th - What we thought was a common bug turned out to be much more serious. We didn't realize that the my Mom's symptoms weren't that of having caught of flu bug going around town but were in reality the severe symptoms of Leukemia. Upon being admitted tests were conducted and within 2 hrs we went from "she might have at worst pneumonia, might give her some antibiotics" to the doctor coming to her bed, and telling us of her first round of test results.
-Her white blood cell count was over 800,000 and required a specialty hospital and would be transferred to one as soon as her case would be accepted by a doctor.
August 17th and 18th, we almost lost my Mom. God worked through the doctors and nurses to save her lives several times.
Since coming to the specialist hospital, she's been officially diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma (CLL/SLL) with Cardiomyopathy and HFrEF (Heart Failure with reduced Ejection Fraction).
She spent 6 days in ICU before being deemed stable enough to be discharged to Oncology where she currently is now.
She's already had two rounds of chemotherapy and is responding well, but is on a 2 week waiting period for the next round. The doctors are hopeful, saying with treatment and time, she can get back to a full, active life.
Because of her condition, she can't work and her body needs time to heal, recover and let God restore it. Her heart needs time to recover and heal and her mind needs time to decompress and heal from the trauma of the last few weeks.
I am going to be her primary caregiver and will have to be mindful of my exposure from now so that I'm not a carrier and passing harm to my Mom's immune system as it's rebuilding from almost zero.
We do have an Oncologist and Cardiologist lined up and waiting for her when we return back to Prescott to continue treatment and begin her recovery.
She will be discharged from the specialist hospital within the next couple days.
We know God can move mountains and that He loves to take care of His children. We ask for prayers and words of support and warmth.
We're doing everything we can, but we need your help.
We need support to help cover expenses and ensure her plans and dreams come true.
Thank you for reading this,
Renae
