Tammy's CLL/SLL Quality of Life
Hi friends and family,
It's been a little bit of a rough 8 days here. My Mom's energy has been a roller coaster, discomfort, pain, itchy and irritated skin and just sensations of feeling 'off' and unwell.
A few times we've had some scares with her blood pressure and pulse rate, each time it was due to her twisting her body to the left to grab a remote or her burt's bees lip balm. Since she has HFrEF (left ventricle) it makes sense that her numbers become affected by movements involving her left side since it's operating at 20% squeeze capacity.
It's added to the learning curve of this whole journey.
We're learning which fabrics seem soothing to her skin and which ones offend, food that previously smelled good is now too intense and gross (this is due to the chemo in her body), when to put on lotion so it doesn't up the itchiness, the list goes on. It's a lot to write down and remember but we're doing our best.
I was able to head up to Prescott last week and spend some time with my brother, it was amazing. It's incredible how keenly a believer can experience the strength and presence of the Lord through the body of the Church. When we get to pray for each other and together it's tangible.
This week is going to be a big one, we're anticipating lots of emotions, working on our thoughts and staying steadfast in prayer with God.
+ Wednesday - Phone appointment with my Mom's nurse
+ Thursday - Appointment with her doctor
There's been a few things that have come up in the last 8 days that both of us are trying not to be concerned or anxious about. There's a lot of relief wrapped up in the anticipation and anxiety of her upcoming appointments.
Clarity is going to be nice but on the other side of that coin comes a dose of reality - please pray for us and that we continue to feel the strength, calm, and confidence of our Lord.
Thank you for your continued kind words and prayers.
Thank you for reading this,
Renae
