Hello friends and family,

My Mom had her oncologist/hematologist doctor consultation today at City of Hope in Scottsdale.

It went really well, we both like her doctor, she was efficient, compassionate and calm.

We didn't know what to expect or what we would be hearing, it was hard not to be scared. And while the doctor conveyed that my Mom was really sick, she said calmly "but that's in the past, from now on we're taking care of you and get you back on your feet."

It was comforting to hear, to know that my Mom is going to be in good hands, that they see her, are aware of her situation and are going to do right by her. As her daughter it's reassuring.

Dr. C started the process of me being a state paid care giver for my Mom, huge relief, that will will help tremendously.

My Mom starts treatment next Thursday for Chemo for the Leukemia.

This Monday my Mom goes in to her new electrophysiologist Cardiologist for heart scans and screenings.

She'll be taking Chemo via IV and oral for a year.

We're still working on insurance and now are experiencing car trouble. If you could please pray for our car we would appreciate it.

We don't know yet what her prognosis is but we know with confidence who the Lord is and that He claims my Mom as His. It's scary at times and overwhelming but God keeps strengthening us.

Towards the end of the appointment I asked Dr. C if there was anything drink or food wise that my Mom couldn't/shouldn't have and the Dr. shook her head "Do what you want, Tammy, don't go crazy, but do what you want to get through this."

Tammy - "Is Raising Cane's crazy?"
Dr. C - "Go to Cane's Tammy and enjoy yourself."

We both started crying, it felt like the biggest win ever! My Mom enjoyed her sweet tea (easy ice) and 3 finger chicken tender combo.

This is not how either one of us expected this day to go and we are incredibly thankful and relieved. God is so good, He keeps showing up in such personal customized ways. I love Him.

Thank you for reading this and for praying,

Renae
