Damian’s story:
At 8 months old, Damian underwent a 12 hour brain surgery to remove a mass that was found after a basic ophthalmology and nuero consult. He was a perfectly healthy and active baby boy, there were no symptoms of a brain tumor. After diagnosis Damian continued to be his happy charming self, winning over many nurses and doctor’s hearts as he awaited surgery. Post surgery Damian lost his ability to sit, crawl, and stand but he never stopped trying to relearn his milestone and after 2.5 weeks made a full recovery. His tumor was only partially removed and the pathology report confirmed his mass was malignant, cancer, and would need high dose chemotherapy to remove the remaining. After his 1st round of chemo he spent 21 days living in the hospital until he made a full recovery. His is parents did not anticipate his side effects to require so much attention and time off from work. Damian has more rounds of chemo to go and Mom and Dad would like to remain by his side for every hospital treatment to provide the love and nurture their baby needs to recover quickly. Any money that we do not use will be payed forward to other families in similar situations.
Love,
