On October 7, 2024, Bart was diagnosed with stage four metastatic clear-cell renal cell carcinoma. It presented with numerous metastases in his brain from the start. His cancer has now spread to his liver, lungs, muscles, brain, and both kidneys.

Ashley and Bart Owens have two sons: Ross (age 11) and Wyatt (age 8). Bart is a pillar in our community—coaching baseball, mentoring players, and leading the Mavs travel baseball teams. He also works as a BSN rep and has built connections with countless high school and college coaches. Both Ross and Wyatt play in the Mavs travel league, following in their dad’s footsteps.

Ashley works as a property manager at Trinity Partners. She truly does it all—work, school pickups, drop-offs, multiple sports, and everything in between.

Bart is currently receiving treatments at MD Anderson. He has just started brain radiation to improve pain management and mobility. We are hopeful that immunotherapy will soon be restarted, since chemotherapy protocols are not an option for Bart’s diagnosis. Our prayer is for this to bring him more time and better quality of life with his family.

Ashley and Bart have been in Texas since the beginning of August, away from their boys, so Bart can receive the very best care. During this time, Ashley’s mother and sister have been caring for Ross and Wyatt at home.

Friends of the Owens Family are coming together to create this registry on their behalf. We know how much this battle costs—financially, emotionally, and time-wise—and we want Ashley and Bart to have all their energy focused on Bart’s healing, not worrying about logistics.

Please be sure to also check the “Lend a Hand” feature where practical needs are listed. We’ll be posting updates here as things unfold, and we ask you to share this registry far and wide to help spread love and support in one place.

This family is so special to all of us. The Owens are the first to lend a hand when others need help—and now it’s our turn to lift them up. 💛

Here’s how you can help:

  • Donate generously through this registry.
  • Lend a hand by meeting practical needs listed.
  • Share this registry widely to bring more support.

Together, we can surround Bart, Ashley, Ross, and Wyatt with the prayer, love, strength, and resources they need most right now.
