Hello family and friends,
The Myers Family needs your support this week.
Our family has experienced many beautiful changes recently, and while many of you know parts of our story, we wanted to share where things are now.
I am a single foster and adoptive mom. In May 2025, I officially adopted my sweet Vera-Rae, who just turned two! If you have followed my foster journey from the beginning, you may remember my first little girl, the one I’ve always affectionately called “Buggy Girl.” After many conversations and much prayerful consideration, her mom asked if I would adopt her. We are currently walking through the legal process and are hopeful she will officially join our family in the coming months. My heart is so full to continue being in her life and to step back into the role of her mama.
Both of my girls have significant medical needs and rely on wheelchairs for mobility and safety. Vera is currently working toward an autism diagnosis. She is not yet walking independently and uses a wheelchair for both support and safe transportation.
Buggy Girl is four years old and has cerebral palsy. She is non-mobile, and as she grows, it will become increasingly difficult and unsafe, to transport her in a traditional car seat. Her wheelchair provides the positioning and support her body needs, and the safest option for her is to remain in her wheelchair during transportation.
Because both girls require wheelchairs, our greatest current need is an adaptive wheelchair van. Having an accessible van will allow us to safely get to doctor appointments, therapies, school, and everyday activities. More than that, it will give our family greater freedom, stability, and the ability to fully participate in our community.
