Hello family and friends,

We started this blog so that their family had a place to share all the news of Todd's health and how they can ask for specific prayers.  Todd received the unexpected news that he had cancer back in September.  He went in for routine blood work from a functional medicine doctor because he didn't quite have the energy that he was used to.  He went thinking maybe his hormones were off.  The doctor called and said he needed to head to a hematologist. With hesitation he scheduled his appointment.  The hematologist ordered bloodwork and a bone marrow biopsy.  Weeks later they received the diagnosis that neither him or his wife was expecting.  Todd was diagnosed with an incurable and rare blood cancer that is in his bone marrow, called multiple myeloma.

There are different stages, different kinds and lots of factors.  Todd has the cancer in over 90% of his bone marrow and has a rare kind that only 15% get.  After lots of natural modalities, prayer and fasting, his numbers sky rocketing in a short amount of time, which they quickly started him on different chemo's and immunotherapies.

He has been doing some form of weekly treatment since October.

Todd is a wonderful husband and a loving father of three. This diagnosis has brought a lot of changes and challenges to their lives.  We want to continue supporting the Shuman's and his family as they continue with treatment and are navigating this heart wrenching journey.

We have set up a support registry to help in the best way possible when they feel they need it. The medical bills are piling up and the long stay during transplant will incur a lot of out of pocket expenses.  Hopefully down the road we can set up a meal train and/or needs they may need among their home or other things.  There are places you can help donate financially for medical bills, a delivery meal or whatever else they may need if you feel so inclined.

But most importantly, they wanted a place they could share what is happening in their life.

They so appreciate your prayers and love for their family at this time.
