The Ross family is walking through an incredibly heavy and unexpected loss. This week, Joe passed away suddenly on the basketball court—a place that reflected his energy, strength, and love for life.
Joe was known for his contagious spirit. Affectionately known as “Let’s go Joe!”—a nickname that came from his constant rallying cry of “Let’s go!”—he was always ready to jump in, compete, and bring people together. He loved time with friends, a good cornhole match, working out, and cheering on Georgia Southern Eagles football, where he once played and left his mark. He truly never met a stranger.
Above all, Joe loved his family deeply. He was a devoted husband to Amie and a proud father to Lila (19) and Jacob (17). His love for them was steady, strong, and evident in everything he did.
Amie is also navigating early-onset Alzheimer’s and currently receives overnight care and attends a daytime support group. This season brings both profound grief and ongoing care needs.
All support will go directly toward caring for Amie and the children, honoring Joe’s heart for his family, and covering healthcare and daily needs as they arise.
We will share updates and specific needs here. Right now, the greatest gift is support—please follow, share, and help surround the Ross family with care during this time.
