The outpouring of support from everyone has been truly overwhelming. People continue to reach out, offering help in any way they can.  The support has come from everywhere; friends, family, the SGI Buddhist community, Joe’s cornhole and basketball teams, neighbors, and even strangers. Tonight, the Cornhole Atlanta League and Joe’s team, PINK Tequila Day, are honoring Joe by dedicating the evening to him and celebrating his life at Gate City Brewery.
Words cannot fully capture how deeply grateful we are for each and every one of you.

Hello, Marla, you and I haven’t met, but I worked with Amie for several years at Baldwin. She was so wonderful with all of the kids and she was a very special friend to me. We used to call ourselves “Thelma & Louise” but without a sad ending—we just loved having each other to help get through the work days. I am afraid I also never met Joe, but sure would have liked to. My heart aches for each family member and I hold Amie in my heart as she continues on. I know this family has endured far too much, but I count myself so blessed to call sweet Amie a dear friend. I live in the NE Georgia mountains now, but would gladly do anything to help. Most sincerely and very sadly, sending prayers for this family’s peace and healing. I don’t know if she still has it, but I embroidered a dish towel for Amie a few years ago. It has a blue Hamsa 🪬 on it to match the necklace she wore in those days. Again, prayers for all of you.
