In Support of Isabella Dillard

Isabella Dillard
Hi, my name is Isabella also known as Izzy. I have been struggling for quite some time and haven’t really wanted to ask for help but it has become much needed. I’ve had 2 spine surgeries, 3 spinal injections, and 3 knee surgeries. I have another injection this week, how that goes will determine if I need another spine surgery. I have Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos, Fibromyalgia, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I cannot work or go to school and can only walk short distances. I must use a powered wheelchair when I am able to go somewhere that requires me to be on my feet longer than a few minutes, even with my chair I am still in constant pain as it doesn’t help my upper back pain. I haven’t had much luck with my pain being helped, doctors at Children’s Healthcare and Emory both seem to have no answer. So, I have contacted the Mayo Clinic and have an appointment in December for my initial evaluation, they have already told me I will have several in person visits that will likely last multiple days each, so that means multiple trips to Jacksonville. Here is where the biggest issue comes in, I don’t have the money to get there. I need funds to cover travel, hotel, food, and uncovered medical expenses. As I mentioned before, I cannot work, so even bills at home I can’t help pay. My mother hasn’t been able to have a regular full time job since my brother and I were diagnosed with serious health issues, and in order to accompany me to the clinic she will lose out on her opportunities to make money that supports our whole family. Any money would be really appreciated as I truly hope they can figure out what is wrong so I can pursue my dreams of being a childlife specialist.

I hope you can get some answers! I don’t have EDS but a lot of people with hip dysplasia have it so I heard about the multitude of issues it could cause when I was dealing with that.
