Help Fiona Access the World Around Her
At 9 years old, Fiona is a bright, resilient child with Cerebral Palsy. Because she is non-ambulatory, she relies on a motorized wheelchair for mobility and independence.
Like any child, Fiona deserves the opportunity to participate in family outings, community events, medical appointments, therapy sessions, school activities, and adventures with the people she loves. But for Fiona's family, something as simple as getting from one place to another comes with challenges most families never have to consider.
Fiona's parents, Jessica and Joel, work tirelessly to provide every opportunity possible for their daughter. They are loving, dedicated parents who will do whatever it takes to help Fiona access the world around her.
Currently, every trip requires Fiona's motorized wheelchair to be taken apart, loaded into a vehicle, transported, unloaded, and reassembled.
This creates several challenges:
• Fiona's wheelchair is heavy, making transportation physically demanding and increasing the risk of injury for her caregivers.
• Repeatedly taking apart and reassembling the chair can contribute to wear and tear on equipment that is essential to Fiona's daily life.
• The extra time, effort, and logistics can make it difficult for the family to say "yes" to opportunities that many families take for granted.
• Simple outings become major undertakings.
A wheelchair-accessible van would be life-changing for Fiona and her family.
Unlike traditional vehicles, wheelchair-accessible vans require specialized modifications that are typically not covered by insurance. While many families can purchase a reliable vehicle for $10,000–$20,000, wheelchair-accessible vans often cost between $70,000 and $90,000.
Families raising children with disabilities also face significantly higher lifetime expenses. On average, raising a child with disabilities can cost up to 10 times more than raising a typically developing child, creating financial challenges that extend far beyond transportation.
As a community, we have the opportunity to help remove one of the biggest barriers this family faces every day.
Your support will help Fiona gain greater access, independence, and inclusion while helping her family safely transport the equipment she depends on.
Whether you choose to give financially, share this page, pray, or encourage the family, every act of support makes a difference.

Together, we can help Fiona access more of the world around her.
