Hi friends and family,

Many of you know parts of Colton’s story, but for those who may not, we wanted to share what our family has been through and why we are asking for help.

Our sweet boy, Colton Carter Bush, was born on August 16, 2025. Throughout my pregnancy, every test and sonogram showed a perfectly healthy baby boy. Toward the end of my pregnancy, I developed high blood pressure and was told I needed to be induced.

What followed was a long and difficult 28-hour labor. Throughout much of labor, Colton’s heart rate repeatedly dropped, and when he was finally born, he was almost immediately taken from me due to breathing complications and fluid in his lungs.

Within hours of birth, Colton began having seizures and was rushed to the NICU, where he spent the next month undergoing countless tests, scans, medications, and monitoring as doctors searched for answers.

Eventually, we learned that Colton had suffered a brain injury called HIE (hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy). Since then, he has been diagnosed with epilepsy, infantile spasms, and spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, a form of cerebral palsy that affects all four of his limbs.

While we do not fully know what Colton’s future will look like, we do know he will face significant challenges. Right now, he requires ongoing therapies, specialist appointments, medications, and lots of support. Every milestone will likely require extra work, therapies, and resources to help him reach his fullest potential.

Despite everything he has endured, Colton is the sweetest, happiest baby. He brings so much joy to everyone around him, and we truly believe he is perfectly and wonderfully made.

We are pursuing advanced treatment options that have shown promising outcomes for children like Colton, including Muse stem cell therapy, intensive therapy programs, specialized equipment, and ongoing developmental support. These therapies and resources have the potential to improve his mobility, communication, independence, and overall quality of life.

Unfortunately, insurance does not cover many of these treatments and expenses. Between therapies, travel, medical needs, equipment, and specialized care, the financial burden is overwhelming.

We are incredibly grateful for our jobs and for everyone who has already loved and supported our family so well, but we cannot do this alone.

No amount is too small. Every donation, prayer, and share means more to us than we can ever express.

If you feel led to support Colton’s journey, we would be so incredibly grateful—your kindness is helping give him opportunities we could never provide alone.

Thank you for loving our sweet boy and walking alongside our family through this journey.

With love and gratitude,
 The Bush Family
