Chandra is a homeschool mom to two beautiful children (one of whom is deaf-blind), a caregiver to a husband with chronic Lyme disease and small business owner. In April 2022, what should have been a healing family vacation in Florida turned into a nightmare: she caught COVID, and while the family recovered quickly, she did not. By that fall, she was rushed to the ICU with blood sugar in the 600s. On her 44th birthday, she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes—likely triggered by COVID.
It felt like rock bottom—but things were just getting started. Over the next months, she faced three failed surgeries to repair a glandular fistula. She became constantly fatigued, short of breath, and plagued by relentless diaphragm spasms. A chest x-ray finally revealed a pleural effusion, and what seemed like relief turned into another devastating blow: five days of hospitalization, a million-scan workup, two thoracenteses (draining fluid from her lungs), and a stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer diagnosis on her 46th birthday.
First, second and third opinions led us to Johns Hopkins, where she is now receiving ovarian suppression, CDK-inhibitor therapy, and bone-building infusions. A conventional care, "fingers-crossed" approach - yes the oncologist actually said that - to slow progress but no hope for healing, no cure and no support to sustain a healthy vibrant life moving forward.
Thankfully, Chandra was able to find an integrative center to provide terrain-based healing strategies—balancing metabolic and immune-based approaches alongside her conventional treatments. It’s been a grueling and expensive journey: months of specialized testing, supplements, IV therapies, and commuting 90mins each way to Baltimore three to four times per week.
The good news is: the treatments are working!! Despite conventional medicine saying it wasn't possible, a recent PET scan showed significant decrease in the size of her spinal tumors (some starting at 5cm to now 1cm) and zero spread to other parts of the body.
The bad news: their finances have run dry. Savings are gone, credit is maxed, retirement is liquidated, and her husband Ariel was furloughed all summer with no income.
Tests show that she has a chance—real hope—of reversing this disease completely but not without support to fund ongoing treatments, including EBOO, mistletoe IVs, supplements, and other essential terrain therapy. As they weigh a relocation to Colorado for cleaner air and better access to alternative care, they need your help to keep going.
How You Can Help:
- Donate toward ongoing treatments (like mistletoe IVs or EBOO)
- Donate toward state-of-the-art testing from Europe that would inform her team exactly which treatments, supplements and more would work best for her specifically
- Purchase items from our Amazon wishlist to ease everyday burdens
- Help us prepare the house to sell—relocation is looming
- Share this campaign far and wide—awareness is critical
Chandra is fiercely independent—she’s the first to help others. Now it's our turn to show her that community does exist, and that she and her family don’t have to face this fight alone.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for standing with us.
