Help Atom Keep Fighting
Atom has been fighting cancer since November 2023.
At just 14 years old, he has already endured more than most people face in a lifetime.
He’s been through limb-saving surgery, received an expandable bone prosthetic, and survived months of intense chemotherapy. Now, the cancer has spread—to his lungs and near his spine. Despite radiation and chemo pills, the tumors continue to grow.
Recently, we learned there may be yet several new tumors. One tumor is close to blocking his airway. I rushed him for emergency radiation. We will be staying at a hotel for the rest of the month to shrink his tumors. The more dangerous one can not be treated it's dangerous so I'm still looking for a clinical trial that will stop that one tumor from blocking his airway! He's on oxygen and has a constant cough and sleeps sitting up.
Atom should be worrying about high school, friends, and going to the skate park—not whether the cancer will spread again. He deserves more than this horrible bone pain, more than hospital rooms, more than fear.
We are desperately seeking specialized testing, alternative treatments, and clinical trials—many of which are out of state or overseas and not covered by insurance. The costs are overwhelming, but giving up is not an option. Atom wants to live. And we will fight for every chance we can get.
