Meet Calvin
Calvin is a strong 💪🏼 2-year-old who is trach, vent, and G-tube dependent and remains undiagnosed as doctors partner with the Undiagnosed Diseases Network (UDN) to uncover the cause of his complex medical challenges.
He is unable to walk, sit, or stand independently and spends much of his days in therapy working hard on head and core control, learning to bear weight, and strengthening his little body. Most days, Calvin is carried everywhere so he can continue exploring the world in the only way he can right now.
Despite every obstacle, Calvin shows incredible determination and continues to make progress. But beginning January 1, insurance will no longer cover DMI therapy—one of the most effective and specialized therapies helping him move forward. To make things even more difficult, most DMI providers, including Dr. Crawford at NeuroSolution, do not take insurance.
That means every therapy session, every piece of equipment, and every treatment moving forward will rely entirely on private funding and support.
With your help, we hope to:
- Continue intensive DMI therapy at Triform Therapy to help Calvin reach new milestones
- Plan a trip to Austin to see Dr. Crawford at NeuroSolution for advanced treatment guidance ($10,000+)
- Provide essential therapy tools and equipment not covered by insurance, including:
- Red-light therapy device ($8–14K) – supports healing and muscle recovery
- StimPod ($4,900) – or a TENs Pen as a temporary alternative
- Rezzimax ($699) – handheld vibration device to fine-tune the nervous system
- VenomGo ($150) – advanced heat + vibration tool for targeted relief
- VSEL therapy – a promising regenerative option to support Calvin’s long-term development
- Red-light therapy device ($8–14K) – supports healing and muscle recovery
