Hello family and friends!
I am reaching out to my community for support as my life with an invisible illness has turned into a visible disability. Over the past year, my health has quickly declined. I have been battling conditions like hEDS, MCAS, dysautonomia, and severe gastroparesis, which have left me almost completely incapacitated. My condition worsened after fighting to be heard by doctors and struggling to secure work accommodations. After a car crash in late 2024, I was wrongfully charged with a DUI, and now I am dealing with legal fees and mounting medical expenses. It’s been a tough journey, and I am working on moving back to Oregon to be closer to a support system, but financial challenges make this hard.
Despite these challenges, I have dedicated my life to care and advocacy, working in veterinary medicine for over a decade and now aiming to become a Board Certified Patient Advocate to help others with similar struggles. It's not easy to ask for help, but I am grateful for any assistance, whether it’s through donations, sharing my story, or words of encouragement. My hope is to turn my experiences into purpose, and I believe compassion and kindness can change lives, including mine. Thank you for being part of my journey and helping me continue to fight for myself and others facing chronic illness.
