In Support of Unity in Community
I'm a single mom of 3 kids and we started this summer trying to do something for our community and it's taking on its own path as we go.
I have been making all of these posts about trying to collect items for the homeless to better survive the summer and have received very little engagements at all. I found that some of my flyers had been tossed, crumpled, literally gone with the wind. It was difficult to acknowledge that it just wasn't going the way I'd hoped. Then we met Sylvia.
She came to the group of kids and then decided she belonged. If we had just left her in the yard her life could have been endangered by a dog who lived nearby and would have caused "severe harm". We brought her with us to find her a home to receive the same love she was already giving out. On my personal post ALONE she received 4.7k views and 247 engagements. Just a "Take this from me." post. None of the backpacks had received that kind of attention. But now I know that my page CAN GET that kind of attention.. ;)
It was so encouraging to see that kind of turn out for her. She had a rescue reach out and will likely be going to them. Now anyone who pays any attention to animal rescue and the amount of strays we have in our area, you know that still comes at a cost. So I did a thing. I set up a support page. This page has the specific goal amount for the #SummerSurvivalPack as well as an open donation amount. I was thinking, at 4.7 THOUSAND views maybe we could make something happen? I would like to invite you to help me help this kitty for $1. Just the change in your couch kind of money, in the cup holder of your car, the bottom of that jar on your makeup table..
Half of whatever is donated over the next two weeks (7/12/26) will go to Cindy's Hope For Precious Paws in Clovis, NM. The other half will go towards the $10k amount to build these back packs for our Homeless community and creating a formal 501c3. If everyone who sees this can take the time to post even a single dollar, we can set this kitten's journey on a great path to a new home and also to help other kitties and puppies who follow her, as well as give our #SummerSurvivalPacks a great boost and Help both Homeless Humans and Pets at the same time!
Why "Sylvia"? Because my grandmother on my dad's side was named Sylvia. She was a very kind woman. Her heart adopted/ had many children and loved all of her grandchildren and it was so natural i never knew who was adopted and who wasn't. I live by that love. I experienced from her at a young age and I understand better now what she was trying to teach me and she was one of the very few people to ever stick up for me. This adorable loving homeless kitty will be adopted to a family who will love and protect her. and I'm going to use her short story with me to spread that love and protection as far as it can go. I did 2 different pages, one is well known and one is new whatever your preference is, the goal is the same on both.
