It is with a heavy heart that we announce our father, Wayne Richard Myers, also known as ‘Rick’, age 59, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026 in Valrico, Florida. Rick was born on January 16, 1967 in Boston, Massachusetts to James and Ruth Myers. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1984 and received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Florida in 1994. While at UF, Rick became a proud member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.

Rick had an extensive career as a Senior Talent Acquisition Recruiter. Rick will be remembered for his love for sports, cars, animals, grilling and smoking meats, crime shows, and people. He was a devoted father who found immense joy and pride watching his children grow within their athletic, academic, and occupational fields. Rick was known to be an incredibly social and compassionate person by family and friends, and his love and humor will be greatly missed.

Rick is survived by his adult children Brandon, Ashlyn, Cameron, and Kaelyn Myers, and was preceded in death by his mom Ruth; dad James; and younger brother Rob.

In respect to Rick’s wishes, a funeral service will not be held, but there will be a private gathering of friends and family to celebrate his life. Donations in support of the Myers family during this difficult are appreciated and will not be forgotten.

Organized by Ashlyn Myers, Cameron Myers, Brandon Myers, and Kaelyn Myers.
