In Support of The Guard Family

Recently, a sudden and severe storm caused a lot of damage in the Burlington area. It uprooted trees, and one of those crashed through the roof of Sarah's house. City inspectors immediately condemned the house as unsafe, forcing Sarah and her two high school sons to temporarily relocate while they rebuild their home. They have a place to stay during the rebuilding process, but the road ahead is still uncertain and challenging. 

Sarah works as a teacher assistant at Cooper Montessori School during the school year, greeting families with a smile each morning as she works the drop-off line and gives a lot to the school community. She is also a member of the Burlington Public Library Board. In addition to working for the school district, Sarah is employed as a flex associate at Wisconsin Vision Associates. She works part-time during the school year and puts in more hours through the summer because her BASD income drops off from late May through August. 

Right now, she's losing precious income as she works to sort out the aftermath of this disaster and get her family settled in a new place. There will likely be other needs along the way that insurance will not cover. The funds raised here will help Sarah and her sons with living expenses, lost wages, and replacing essentials as they work to rebuild their lives.
