I’m reaching out during a tough time. I’m 69 years old and live alone. After hurricane Milton, I had to spend a lot on repairs that my insurance didn’t cover, making me fall behind on my mortgage. My mortgage company allowed a forbearance, but now that it’s over, my interest rate jumped from 3.5% to 7.5%, raising my monthly payment to $1,350. My first payment is due soon, and I’m facing foreclosure. I’m actively searching for a part-time job and may need to sell my home. I haven’t been in a situation like this before, and I just need some help to get back on my feet.
