In Support of Sweet Caroline

Sweet Caroline

Help Caroline Move Mountains πŸ’—

Every milestone matters. Every opportunity counts.

Meet Caroline. Our beautiful, strong, determined little girl who has been fighting battles most people will never face since the day she was born.

Caroline entered this world at just 24 weeks and 3 days, weighing only 1 pound, 5 ounces. What followed was a 300-day journey in the NICU filled with unimaginable challenges, countless prayers, and more moments of uncertainty than we could ever put into words.

During those 300 days, Caroline endured 13 surgeries, including 11 brain surgeries and two abdominal surgeries. She battled bacterial and fungal meningitis, suffered a severe brain bleed, developed hydrocephalus, and spent months relying on a ventilator to breathe.

On September 8, 2025, after 300 days in the hospital, we finally carried our little girl through the hospital doors and brought her HOME.

But coming home wasn't the end of Caroline's medical journey. In many ways, it was the beginning of an entirely new chapter.

Our Life Today

Here's what we want the world to know: Caroline is so much more than the diagnoses written in her medical chart.

She is our happy, silly, beautiful little girl who loves Minnie Mouse, lights up when she hears familiar voices, and has a smile that can change your entire day.

And she works harder than anyone we know.

While other children her age may be learning to run and jump, Caroline is working on holding her head up, sitting independently, reaching for toys, and learning how to move her body.

Things that may seem small to others are monumental victories in our home.

We celebrate every movement, every new sound, every second of improved strength, and every new skill. Because we know just how much work goes into each one.

Why We're Asking for Support

Since bringing Caroline home, we have made it our mission to give her every opportunity to grow, learn, and experience the world around her.

Her days are filled with physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, specialized intensive therapy programs, and appointments with medical specialists.

We've traveled for intensive rehabilitation programs and pursued additional treatment options, including Dezawa MUSE stem cell therapy, as part of our efforts to explore opportunities for Caroline's development.

While we are grateful for the medical care and insurance coverage Caroline receives, many specialized programs, treatments, and pieces of adaptive equipment are not covered by insurance or come with significant out-of-pocket expenses.

Funds raised through Team Caroline will help support:

  • Intensive therapy programs: Specialized physical, occupational, and developmental therapies designed to help Caroline work toward greater strength, mobility, and independence.
  • Stem cell treatments: Access to treatments our family has chosen to explore.Β
  • Adaptive equipment: Specialized seating, mobility devices, orthotics, and other equipment that help Caroline participate more fully in everyday life.
  • Additional therapies and developmental resources: Opportunities that support Caroline's ongoing progress beyond what traditional insurance covers.
Our goal isn't to change who Caroline is.

Our goal is to give Caroline every possible opportunity to become everything SHE is capable of becoming.

It Takes a Village πŸ’—

One of the greatest gifts this journey has given us is the incredible community that has surrounded our family.

What started as a way to share updates during Caroline's NICU stay has grown into a village of people who pray for her, celebrate her victories, encourage our family, and believe in her potential.

We don't know exactly what Caroline's future will look like. No one can promise us which milestones she will reach or when she will reach them.

But we do know that we will never stop showing up for her, advocating for her, and giving her opportunities to try.

And we believe that with love, determination, the right support, and a whole lot of faith, incredible things are possible.

If you feel led to donate, please know that your generosity means more to our family than words can express. And if donating isn't possible, sharing Caroline's story, following her journey, or keeping her in your prayers means just as much.

You're not just supporting therapies or equipment. You're helping give a little girl more opportunities to explore her world, experience new things, and work toward her own milestones.

Thank you for loving our girl, believing in her, and being part of Team Caroline.

With so much love and gratitude,

Summer, Dylan & Caroline πŸ’—
