Support for Sienna’s Next Chapter
Sienna is 3 years old and has already shown more determination than most will in a lifetime. She was born with Down syndrome and received a tracheostomy at just 6 months old. Despite the challenges, Sienna continued to push forward—attending school, building independence, and even walking with her walker.
Then, everything changed.
After a tragic incident, Sienna went into cardiac arrest for 40 minutes, resulting in a severe anoxic brain injury. Since that day, her journey has taken a new path—one filled with both uncertainty and hope.
Sienna has recently been accepted into an intensive therapy program at the NAPA Center in Boston from November 30 – December 18. NAPA specializes in pediatric rehabilitation, including Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI)—a hands-on therapy approach designed to improve strength, coordination, and motor development by actively challenging the brain and body to build new neural connections.
The cost of this intensive alone ranges from $10,000–$12,000, not including travel and lodging. These intensives are often recommended 2–4 times per year while children are young, as neuroplasticity—the brain’s ability to heal and rewire—is at its strongest.
In addition, Sienna’s parents, Cassandra and Javauhn, are exploring stem cell therapy and other emerging treatments that have shown promise for children with complex diagnoses. These therapies range from $8,500 to $25,000 and are not covered by insurance.
There is a real sense of urgency right now—to give Sienna access to as many opportunities as possible while her brain has the greatest potential to recover and grow.
Cassandra and Javauhn are doing everything they can to support their daughter. This page is a place to come alongside them.
Your support will help cover:
