Ryder’s Miracle – Help Him Access Life-Changing Care
For those who know and love the Barnes Family, you’ve likely followed Ryder’s incredible fight. At just 17 months old, after a long battle of discovery, Ryder was diagnosed with a brain injury caused by a parasite. Against all odds, this little warrior has fought every step of the way, proving time and time again that he is stronger than his circumstances.
Now at 4 years old, Ryder continues to defy expectations, but his fight isn’t over. We’ve spent the past three years battling epilepsy—enduring countless medications and the difficult side effects that come with them. While he has made remarkable progress, he still faces breakthrough seizures each month.
What’s Next for Ryder?
The next steps in his journey require urgent access to specialized treatments and therapies, many of which must be paid for out of pocket. These include:
✔️ Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) Surgery – A device that sends mild electrical pulses to the brain to help reduce seizures. ($3k+)
✔️ Regular Specialist Appointments in Austin to monitor his progress. (travel expense only $2300x4 = $9.2K)
✔️ Stem Cell Therapy (AZ - Two Treatments) to support neurological healing. ($8K+ each treatmet = $16+K before travel)
✔️ Hyperbaric Chamber Therapy to enhance oxygen flow and brain function. (12k+)
✔️ Intensive Therapy at NAPA Austin to strengthen his mobility and skills. ($10k+ before travel)
✔️Functional Neurologist ($8k+ before travel)
✔️ DMI On-the-Fly (December) for targeted neurological rehabilitation. ($10k+)
We have a small window to get Ryder into some of these critical treatments, including a potential Total Wellness session on March 28th ahead of his April intensive. Every step forward is life-changing, but the cost is overwhelming.
