In Support of Ryan O'Shea

Ryan O'Shea
About Ryan
On Friday, October 16, 2026, our community suffered an unimaginable loss with the tragic passing of Ryan O’Shea in a fatal traffic accident. Ryan was a beloved son, brother, nephew, and friend, as well as a loyal teammate and hardworking student, whose warmth, humor, and dedication left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

A 2023 graduate of North Rockland High School, Ryan’s passion for hockey was a defining part of his youth. He grew up playing with the North Rockland Youth Hockey Association, JBK Hockey, and proudly represented the North Rockland High School program from 7th through 12th grade.

Ryan continued his educational and athletic journey at the University of New Haven, where he played for the University’s Club hockey program. Off the ice, Ryan was working diligently toward his dream of pursuing a career in law enforcement, driven by a deep desire to serve and protect others.

Where the Funds Will Go
To ensure Ryan’s legacy of kindness, passion, and service lives on, 100% of the funds raised from this campaign will be used specifically and exclusively to establish two memorial scholarship funds in Ryan's name:

  • The Ryan O’Shea Memorial Scholarship at North Rockland High School: Created to support graduating high school student-athletes who embody Ryan’s work ethic, sportsmanship, and dedication both on and off the ice.

  • The Ryan O’Shea Memorial Scholarship at the University of New Haven: Created to assist students pursuing degrees in criminal justice or law enforcement, supporting future leaders on the career path Ryan was so passionately preparing for.

How You Can Help
Ryan brought energy, heart, and community together wherever he went. By contributing to these scholarship funds, you are helping his spirit continue to touch lives and support future generations at both his high school and college alma maters.

If you are able to donate, please consider doing so. If you cannot contribute financially, sharing this page with your network, posting it to social media, or keeping Ryan’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers means the world to us all.

Thank you for your generosity, love, and support as we honor and remember Ryan O’Shea.
