In Support of Resource Minneapolis
We are heartbroken to report that during the night of October 18th, a fire broke out inside of Resource resulting in catastrophic damage. While the fire was contained to the first floor, the apartments above were quickly smoked out and evacuated. Thankfully all humans and animals made it out safely, but they are now displaced as damage to living quarters is assessed and addressed.
The three organizers of Resource are currently navigating the grief and stress of the loss of Resource — as well as their housing and income.
The love, care and creativity that Emma, Alex and Zoe have poured into Resource and the community it serves is truly remarkable. Resource was (is) much more than a space. It is an idea and way of being in the world. We must now turn to support them in the way they have supported us — through tangible support, collective care, and community action.
An idea will grow to fill the space that it is given.
The first step is giving yourself space.
What follows is expansion.
RESOURCE is a supply of space
that a person can draw upon
It is a kind place.
Comfortable, casual.
What lives here doesn’t have to be anything, doesn't have to be complete, but it should be shared.
Please give and share generously.
We will provide updates as they become available.
