On behalf of the Zinck family, we want to thank everyone for the incredible outpouring of love and support for Becky, Brad, and our entire family. Your prayers, messages, phone calls, and acts of kindness have meant more than we can express.
Many of you have asked how you can best support Becky during this difficult time. Before asking for financial assistance, we wanted to take some time to better understand the financial impact of losing Brad. Over the past week, we've learned:
- Brad was in the process of applying for life insurance, but unfortunately, the policy had not yet been finalized. As a result, Becky will not receive any life insurance benefits.
- Brad and Becky were renting a beautiful home within walking distance of Janet and Bob and close to both of their workplaces. Our hope is that Becky can remain there, surrounded by familiar comforts and the support of family. However, their household expenses and rent were covered by both of their incomes, and at this time we simply don't know how long she will be able to afford to stay.
- Just as importantly, Becky needs time to grieve. She and Brad shared a truly special bond and spent as much time together as they possibly could. Many evenings, after finishing work, Brad would head straight to Lovin' Cup just to spend a little more time with her. His absence has left an unimaginable void, and we hope she can take the time she needs to process this loss, care for her mental and emotional well-being, and begin to heal. While none of us knows what the coming weeks or months will bring, our hope is that she won't feel pressured to return to work before she is truly ready.
We are not setting a fundraising goal because we know so many families are facing financial challenges of their own. Instead, we simply ask that if you were planning to send flowers, a gift, or another gesture of sympathy, you would consider making a donation instead. Your generosity will help provide Becky with stability, time to grieve, and the ability to make thoughtful decisions about her future without the immediate burden of financial stress.
Whether you're able to give or simply keep Becky and our family in your thoughts and prayers, please know how deeply grateful we are. Thank you for taking the time to read this, for being part of Brad and Becky's community, and for surrounding Becky with so much love and support during this incredibly difficult time.
