The amount of love and support we've received from our family and friends has been overwhelming in the best possible way. We have been completely floored by the generosity shown through Becky's SupportNow page so far. We honestly went into it with very few expectations, but wow... it is just amazing. To everyone who has been able to donate or those planning on doing so in the near future, please know how much it means. Your generosity is going to help Becky so much in the months ahead, and we are beyond grateful.
At the same time, we know there are so many worthy causes to give to, and we also know that not everyone is in a place where they can give financially. Please don't think your love has gone unnoticed. Every card, text, phone call, hug, gift, and kind word has meant more than we could ever put into words. Your light has carried us through some of our darkest days and will continue to do so.
One thing this experience has taught me is that the smallest gestures really do matter. There have been so many times in my life when I wasn't sure how to help someone who was grieving. Now, seeing it from the other side, I can tell you that a simple "I love you" text, an extra squeeze during a hug, offering to grab something from the store, dropping off a meal, or just checking in can mean absolutely everything. You don't have to have the perfect words, just showing up is enough.
Thank you for showing us what love looks like. It's a lesson we'll carry with us forever, and one we hope to pass on.
