My name is Tanya, and even though disability and severe anxiety have reshaped my life, I’m still fighting for a future where my husband Adam and I have a safe place to call home.
I can move on my own, but I still need help with tasks that trigger pain or overwhelm. And my anxiety makes it impossible for me to go out in public alone — I can’t be around strangers without Adam by my side. He’s my anchor, my support, the person who helps me stay regulated and safe.
Adam works full‑time, and after his shift, he becomes my unpaid caregiver. He helps me with the tasks I can’t manage alone and supports me through anxiety episodes. But because he’s gone all day, my care suffers. My symptoms flare. I push myself past my limits because I have no choice.
When our car broke down, we lost the only shelter we had. Now we’re unsheltered, trying to survive while Adam works full‑time and still tries to take care of me. It’s exhausting, frightening, and unsustainable — but we haven’t given up.
We’re dreaming of a small campervan or motorhome. A home on wheels. A private space where I can manage my disability and anxiety safely while Adam works. A place where we can stay warm, stay together, and start rebuilding our lives.
To make that dream real, we need help raising $75,000–$200,000 to cover the vehicle, insurance, registration, and setup. It’s a big number, but it represents something bigger: hope.
We’re not giving up. We’re moving forward — one step, one day, one act of kindness at a time.
