Hello family and friends!
On August 18, 2026, Paula was having lunch in the cafeteria at school (she teaches 2nd grade!) when she had a brain aneurysm. Her surgeon performed an emergency surgery to put in an EVD (external ventricular drain). The following day, she underwent an angiogram, and the rupture was repaired. Wow, are we grateful! Praise God for the timely team of friends and professionals He used to save her life. Her mental acuity is great, and we are hopeful for the restoration of her physical strength. There's a long road ahead with much unknown. Please pray for us during this challenging time as she's expected to remain in the hospital and then begin rehabilitation. She is currently (Aug 22) in the intensive care unit at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens, GA. We are already so touched and amazed by the love, support, and prayers we've received - wow!
