Hello family and friends,

People have been asking how they can help during this time, as Paul undergoes cancer treatment.  First and foremost, prayers, thoughts of hope, and sending love are what are needed most.  These have been deeply felt by Paul, Ann, and their eight children every single day. We truly believe in the power of prayer and God’s plan for Paul. Below are some other ways that you can support the family including the meal train link, help with rides and daily tasks around the house and a link to donate financially, if you feel moved to do so.

In December, Paul was diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive Stage 4 cancer called extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma. His treatment journey is intense and long-term. He is currently undergoing multiple rounds of inpatient chemotherapy and will need a stem cell transplant, which is anticipated as early as March. This will require prolonged hospitalization and a long recovery.

Because of treatment and recovery, Paul will be on disability for at least the next six months. Ann is amazingly trying to balance time at the hospital with Paul, caring for their eight children, welcoming their new grandbaby, and working as a teacher and nurse. This season has brought unexpected emotional, physical, and financial challenges for the entire family.

If you choose to financially support the family here are some of the ways the money will be used:  help cover medical bills and their deductible, help cover income lost as Paul is on disability, travel and meal cost and everyday needs. But most importantly, contributions of any size will create some ease so the family can focus on what matters most: Paul’s healing and being together.

Above all, please continue to pray for Paul’s response to treatment, strength for Ann and the kids, and peace and hope for their whole family and all who know and love Paul. We are beyond grateful for every prayer, message, and act of kindness.

We have a few ways you can help the (Paul) Zahner family during this time:

  1. Choose from Support Registry options: there are many ways to support Paul's family.  Whether you want to offer general need or a specific need, you can indicate that by choosing "lend a hand" and indicate you are willing to help.
  2. 'Share' to Spread the Word to family and friends
  3. Follow Paul's story on Updates or his CaringBridge site

Paul's family has a meal train that was started and there are meal slots open on this site, starting in March.  Since we do not know the exact timing of Paul's transplant, more meals may be added.
