Nate's Recovery Update ❤️
Nate's mom, Brooke, has been keeping us updated, and I wanted to share the latest news with everyone.
There has been some encouraging progress! Nate's brain bleed has stabilized, and he has been moved from the Neuro Trauma ICU to the Trauma ICU.
He's been able to get out of bed and take a few steps with assistance, which is a big milestone! His doctors are continuing to monitor the lacerations to his organs. He is still quite confused and gets dizzy and disoriented easily, so right now he needs plenty of reminders, cues, and assistance throughout the day.
He's also been able to start eating soft foods. While these are all positive steps, Nate is still in quite a bit of pain and has a very long road ahead of him.
As his mom put it, this is going to be a marathon recovery, not a sprint. And she's absolutely right.
For now, we are just incredibly thankful to have him alive and still here with us. Nate means so much to so many people, but especially to his family, who are right there beside him through every step of this journey.
Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared his story, sent prayers and good thoughts, and reached out to check in. The outpouring of love and support has been amazing, and it means more than you know.
Please continue to keep Nate and his family in your thoughts as he takes these steps toward recovery. ❤️
Help Nate Focus on Healing After a Devastating Accident
In the early morning hours of Sunday, November 1, 2026, Nate was involved in a serious single-vehicle accident on Gooseneck Road. His pickup truck left the roadway and came to rest approximately 20 feet down a steep embankment.
Due to the severity of the crash, difficult terrain, and the extensive damage to the vehicle, a large emergency response was required. Multiple agencies worked together in a coordinated rescue effort to stabilize the vehicle and safely extricate Nate. The rescue operation took considerable time and required specialized equipment, rope access, and heavy extrication support.
Nate sustained catastrophic injuries, including:
- Traumatic Brain Injury (including a brain bleed and contusions)
- Head laceration
- Multiple skull and facial fractures
- Lacerations to his spleen and kidney
- Multiple broken ribs
- A broken clavicle (collarbone)
Nate was initially transported to Salem Hospital before being airlifted to Legacy Emanuel Neuro Trauma ICU for a higher level of specialized care. He remains hospitalized and faces a long and uncertain road to recovery.
As you can imagine, the impact of an accident this serious extends far beyond the immediate medical emergency. Nate will be unable to work for an extended period of time, leaving him and his loved ones facing not only the emotional and physical challenges of his recovery but also the financial burden that comes with a medical crisis of this magnitude.
Between extensive medical treatment, ongoing care, rehabilitation, everyday living expenses, and the loss of income, the financial strain will be significant.
This is where we can come together and make a difference.
We are asking our community, friends, family, and anyone whose heart is touched to help support him during this incredibly difficult time. Donations will help ease the burden of mounting medical expenses and provide financial support while Nate focuses on what matters most: healing.
No contribution is too small. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is another meaningful way to help. Gas cards are always welcome for his parents to travel back and forth as well.
Nate has a long road ahead, and we want him to be able to concentrate on recovery without having to carry the overwhelming weight of financial uncertainty.
Thank you for your generosity, kindness, prayers, and support. Every bit of help means more than you know.
