In Support of Emergency Housing Help

Emergency Housing Help
Hi, my name is Mark. I’m a disabled renter in Dayton, Ohio, and I’m asking for short-term help after a housing emergency caused by a bait-and-switch rental situation.
In September 2025, I paid $1,000 for an apartment I was never given. Instead, I was forced into a different unit that was uninhabitable: no power since April, no heat, severe infestation, broken flooring, and unsafe conditions. Despite repeated requests, utilities and repairs were never restored. I have receipts, messages, photos, and videos documenting everything.
I’m disabled with PTSD and agoraphobia and had just escaped homelessness when this happened. I was pressured to clean the unsafe unit myself and promised pay that never came. The conditions ultimately led to the death of one of my dogs. I still have my other dog with me.
When winter temperatures dropped, it became unsafe to stay without heat or power. For my safety, I had to leave and am currently staying in a hotel, but my funds are running out and I’m at risk of homelessness again.
Funds raised will be used for:
Temporary hotel nights during winter weather
Basic necessities and food
Care and safety for my remaining dog
Emergency transition costs while I pursue legal remedies
Any support or sharing helps more than I can express. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any kindness you’re able to offer
