There are no words that could ever truly explain the pain the Durst family is experiencing right now.
On Sunday afternoon, Luke was involved in a terrible four-wheeler accident. He suffered multiple serious injuries, including a skull fracture and devastating brain injury. Despite everything being done for him, his family has been given the heartbreaking news that he will not recover.
Lukes family prepares to say goodbye while also giving the gift of life to others through organ donation.In the middle of unimaginable grief, they are facing decisions and circumstances that no parent should ever have to face.
Luke was so much more than an athlete, teammate, friend, son, and brother. He was deeply loved by so many people. For those who had the privilege of watching him grow up, Luke was the kind of kid who left an impact on the people around him.
Our family has had the honor of knowing Luke and the Durst family for many years. We have watched Luke grow up, shared countless soccer memories, and been lucky enough to call his family friends. Luke's family has always been there for othersβsupporting, encouraging, and loving the people around them. Now it is our turn to surround them with that same love and support.
The Durst family needs time and space to grieve while also navigating the unimaginable emotional and financial weight that comes with this tragedy. Donations will help with funeral and memorial expenses, medical and travel expenses, time away from work, and the many unexpected costs their family will face in the days and weeks ahead.
