In Support of Larry Jennings Memorial Fund

Larry Jennings Memorial Fund
"Chess is life." - Bobby Fischer

Larry Dale Jennings, age 75, died peacefully in his daughter’s home in Lexington, MO, on Thursday, October 8, 2026. Those whose paths crossed with his will surely remember him as one-of-a-kind, a true original.

Larry was an avid chess player and member of various chess clubs throughout his life. He played at a high level, even attaining the status of “master” while in college. First-hand witnesses confirm that he once played against three different opponents simultaneously while blindfolded, and won all three games!

During the last year of his life, his weekly outing to the Lexington (MO) Chess Club was something he looked forward to and rarely missed. To honor his memory and express our gratitude for its contribution to his happiness in those final months, we would like to make a monetary donation to the club and the family who runs it. It somehow seems like exactly what our father would want.

With appreciation,
Valerie & Sarah Jennings
