In Support of Kayda-Register Olympic Campaign
Our team is built on a shared commitment to excellence, continuous improvement, and the pursuit of ambitious goals. We believe success comes from hard work, resilience, collaboration, and a willingness to learn from every challenge. We each bring unique strengths to the team, and we strive to create an environment where we push each other to improve, and collective success comes before individual recognition.
Reaching our full potential requires significant investment in equipment, coaching, training, and travel, and these costs are a substantial barrier. Your support would help us access the resources we need to compete at the highest level, representing our country with pride. By contributing to our team, you are investing not only in our competitive goals, but also in our individual growth, the values we share, and the future we are building together as teammates.
It all started for him as a 7-year-old obsessed with the Pirates of the Caribbean films. He determined he needed not gold doubloons, swords or plunder, but his very own pirate ship —and it had to be made of wood, since pirate ships are built from wood, after all! And so he was enrolled in a sailing school in Santa Barbara and joined the Sea Shells Association, a family run youth racing group. His first boat: a wooden ‘sea shell’ dinghy, akin to the sabot. And with that, Chris began the voyage of a lifetime. After falling in love with the boat, he fell in love with racing, with winning. The rest is history, and the most exciting chapters are yet to be written!
Sydney Register is the crew and communicator of the boat. She started sailing at the age of 6, when her parents enrolled her in an Opti learn to sail camp in Virginia. All it took was that first day, and she was hooked. The freedom of being on the water, the challenge and competition of racing, she couldn’t get enough. This past April, Sydney felt a strong pull towards returning to sailing in a larger way. She quit her job as a Press Secretary in D.C. and took to the water seeking to sharpen her skills, feel that rush, and execute her vision of conquering the 470 class and representing her country in the sport that has been her foundation in life.
