Many family members and friends have asked how Katie is doing, how they can pray for her, how they can stay informed, and whether there is a way to help support Katie and Nate financially. We created this page to share important updates as she goes through treatment and to help keep those who care about her informed along the way.
Katie (Kohlbush) Lynch is 33 years old. On June 24, 2026, during her pregnancy, she was diagnosed with Stage IV HER2-positive breast cancer that had already spread to her liver and bones. In the days that followed, Katie and Nate experienced the heartbreaking loss of their baby. She is currently receiving treatment at UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center.
Katie has completed two rounds of chemotherapy and HER2-targeted therapy. While the road ahead will be long, we are grateful treatment is underway. Her next major milestone is surgery to stabilize her femur, with the hope of restoring her mobility and helping her safely continue treatment.
Although this diagnosis has changed almost every part of daily life, we take each day one step at a time, trusting God for the strength and grace needed for the road ahead.
We are deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and encouragement that have surrounded Katie and our family since her diagnosis. As Katie reaches new milestones, we’ll share updates here so you can follow her progress and know how to pray.
