"Trace" was born with HIE (hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy), a condition caused by limited oxygen to the brain at birth.
Thanks to a new cutting edge Expanded Access Protocol (EAP) stem cell treatment through Duke University, many children with HIE are already seeing amazing results.
"Trace's" mom and dad, Alex and Angel, are doing everything they can to get him access to these treatments while he’s still very young and capitalize on his neuroplasticity.
Stem cells from donor umbilical cord blood help the brain repair itself. It has anti-inflammatory effects, promotes brain repair, improves brain signaling, and can stimulate the body’s own repair cells.
Only caveat: one session costs $15,000 and that’s before travel costs. That’s also before any intensive therapies - which are essential to maximize the benefits of the stem cells a few weeks after he returns home.
Because of Trace's age, he will need to have two treatments. Our goal of $40,000 is to make sure Trace has access to these two treatments, travel costs, and therapy.
So many have asked how they can help, and we’ve decided to say yes to a Support page to share our journey.
We’ll be posting updates here and encourage you to follow and share.
Thank you for your support!
