Yesterday’s infusion went well, and we wanted to share an update with everyone who has been supporting Trace on this journey.
First off, thank you all for the support so far! We truly couldn’t have done this without you.
This trip was full of firsts for Trace, including his very first flight!
For the infusion, Trace was not happy about having his blood drawn or getting the IV placed, but once that part was over, he handled everything incredibly well. He was given Benadryl beforehand to help prevent any reactions, and it definitely knocked him out for most of the treatment! He completed the entire infusion with no reactions.
Trace received a total of 40 million stem cells!
Upon returning home, Trace will be receiving intensive therapy, which is the prescription for after this procedure to get these cells moving!
We have also been placed on the waitlist for a return visit in September. When we are able to come back (it’s just a question of when) he is expected to receive approximately 60 million additional cells from the remainder of his stored blood.
Thank you for continuing to follow Trace’s journey, pray for him, encourage us, and support our family. Every message, donation, and kind thought means more than we can express. We are so grateful to have all of you alongside us on this journey.
