Hello everyone, my name is Cynthia. I am 26 years old, and I am reaching out with all my heart.
Few months ago, my mom was deported back to Haiti. Since that day, my life has completely changed. Overnight, I became the only person my younger siblings could rely on. I am no longer just their sister, I am their parent, their protector, and their only hope. We came to this country when I was 14, fleeing the dangers and instability in Haiti, hoping for safety and a better future. My mom worked tirelessly to give us that chance. Now that she is gone, I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders, and every day is a fight just to survive.
I work long hours to provide for my siblings, but it is never enough. We are struggling to catch up on rent, utilities, and basic necessities. The fear of losing our home is constant. I am doing everything I can, but I cannot do this alone. It’s not easy for us to ask for help, as I’m sure those who know us will understand. My mom always used to say, “When it rains, it pours.” And it’s been pouring, and we’ve been drowning. But we’re hopeful. It can’t rain forever.
I am reaching out to friends, family, and anyone who can help us. The funds raised will go directly toward rent, utilities, food, and basic necessities so we can stay together and keep a roof over our heads. We hope that you will help in any way you are able, whether that is donating, sharing, or even reaching out with kind words. All I want is to protect my siblings and give them some stability in the life we fought so hard to build. I cannot do this alone.
