Hello family and friends! 

Teddy was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Luekemia in November 2025. He spent 3 months in the hospital getting treatment and a stem cell transplant from his little brother, Miles.

Things were looking good and then we found out in early April that his leukemia had relapsed and by mid-May we found out that the transplant was failing.

This is a tough time. Teddy's underlying Fanconi anemia is making this leukemia really hard to treat. The leukemia is aggressive and his cells are fragile. FA is a rare genetic disorder so there isn't a lot of data for Teddy's specific situation. And there are no clinical trials for him to join because of all the funding cuts last year. 

Teddy is a fighter and isn't ready to stop fighting for his life, but he has run out of options. 

The BMT team is no longer willing to do a second transplant because it would do more harm to Teddy and the outcome would be the same, he would still die from his leukemia. They consulted with the most experienced FA doctor in the country and he also said he would not offer a 2nd transplant. 

The plan now is to try to do low doses of chemo to try to slow the leukemi down a little and buy Teddy a little more time where he feels good. He has good quality of life right now and wants to travel and enjoy life while he is able to. Obviously, we are devastated, but we are going to love on Teddy and make memories with him while he is here with us.
