Gage the Lionhearted
At just 2 years old, Gage experienced a drowning accident that left him with a permanent disability. Now 13, Gage continues to face daily challenges, but his strength and determination have earned him the name Gage the Lionhearted.
Gage’s mom is not only his full-time caregiver, but also a nurse. She works tirelessly to keep Gage safe, comfortable, and surrounded by opportunities to grow, participate, and enjoy life.
His family is raising funds for several important needs that would make a meaningful difference in Gage’s daily life:
• Accessible bathroom modifications: Approximately $25,000+ to create a safer, more accessible bathroom and widen 3–4 doorways.
• Additional lift track: Approximately $20,000 for an additional track to their existing lift system, making transfers and daily care safer and more manageable.
• Hyperbaric therapy and intensive PT: Approximately $14,500 for hyperbaric therapy, plus $5,000–$6,000 per week for intensive outpatient physical therapy. These therapies are not covered by insurance when received out of state, and travel and lodging add to the cost.
• MUSE stem cell therapy: Approximately $12,000–$20,000 per treatment, plus travel and lodging expenses.
• Adaptive bike: Gage loves being outside, and the family hopes to find an adaptive bike that will allow him to safely ride alongside his family or enjoy the experience with them.
These are significant expenses, and many of the therapies and equipment Gage needs are not covered by insurance. This SupportNow page gives friends, family, and their community a way to rally around Gage and help his family provide the care, accessibility, and experiences he deserves.
