Hello family and friends.

Help Emory Heal After a Traumatic Brain Injury

On the night of Saturday, June 21st, our sweet Emory was involved in a serious accident. He was ejected from a moving golf cart and sustained multiple traumatic injuries.

He was rushed to St. Mary’s Hospital and admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), where he spent five long days under constant care.

Emory suffered a skull fracture to the left side of his head (parietal and occipital bones), a subdural hematoma, and a contrecoup brain injury affecting his right frontal and temporal lobes. He also sustained an injury to his cervical spine and must wear a c-collar for the next 2–4 weeks.

During his time in the ICU, Emory endured immense pain and battled severe dizziness and vertigo that made even the smallest movements overwhelming. He also struggled with constant vomiting, which further complicated his condition. For the first few days, the medical team struggled to manage his pain and vomiting, making those early hours even more challenging for him. Those days were incredibly difficult—not just physically, but emotionally—as he struggled to understand what had happened and why his body felt so out of control.

Although Emory is now home, the journey to recovery is just beginning. He still requires 24/7 supervision and care. He continues to struggle with significant dizziness, fatigue, and neurological symptoms. He is also not eating or drinking much, and we are working hard to support his nutrition and hydration while his body and brain continue to heal.

He faces a long and challenging road ahead—both neurologically and physically. He will need ongoing visits with multiple specialists and intensive therapy to regain his strength, coordination, and cognitive function.

Unfortunately, many of the specialists and therapy services that could truly make a difference for Emory are not covered by insurance. These therapies are essential to help him return to the vibrant, active, and joyful boy he was before the accident.

We’re asking for your help to give Emory the best possible chance at a full recovery. Every donation will go directly toward his medical care, rehabilitation services, and the therapies he needs to heal.

Since many of you have also inquired about a meal train, we set one up here on the same platform. Emory loves Chick-fil-a and Tropical Smoothie milkshakes.

Thank you for keeping Emory in your thoughts and prayers. Your love, support, and generosity mean the world to us. #EMSTRONG
