Emory Kelsay
Emory developed a facial droop on 7/4. Kathleen was home with him and drove him straight to St. Mary’s where he was re-admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for lots of imaging, monitoring, and steroids to bring down the inflammation of the brain.
This stay was incredibly stressful and challenging as there was no clear explanation at first and many scary theories based on imaging and his presentation.
It was hard to feel comfortable with anything as there was disagreement between providers and radiologists reports and it seemed that many people hadn’t done a thorough case review when coming in for assessment.
Ultimately, we walked out today feeling okay with discharge, but we are going to be searching for trusted providers for follow ups.
Please continue with the prayers for Emory because there are still many questions and we need to make sure we have the best specialist team.
