In Support of Edwin Campos

Hello family and friends.

On August 7th at 5:30 AM, an unexpected and desperate situation arose when my dad, Edwin Campos, was taken by ICE. This happened at a red light on his way to work in Florida. He is being held at Baker County Detention Center, a facility that has been repeatedly condemned for inhumane conditions and human rights violations. Despite having no criminal record and being a legal worker who has paid all his taxes, immigration officials did not consider any of this. Now, his ongoing immigration process is at risk, and our family feels shattered and worried.

Your support is crucial right now, as my dad is the emotional and financial backbone for my little brother and his wife. We feel powerless without him. The legal expenses are beyond our current means, and any help in this difficult time would mean the world to us. 

As of August 12, 2026, over 5 full days since my dad was taken, Maria Alejandra has been working tirelessly on the process of getting my dad back. She has paid $3,000 up front to her attorney, $1,000 of which I sent her directly from my own savings. She has also managed to get help from her community: my dad's coworkers, my little brother's friends' parents, her inner circle, all managed to help her gather another $1,000. As the motion has been submitted and they are awaiting a date to have a judge review his case and present the bail, we are working very hard to gather all the monies needed as soon as possible. The goal amount of $8,000 is an estimate on this expense taking into account the money we have already invested and plan to invest.

I want to remain fully transparent and assure you that your donation will be used to cover these legal fees and nothing else. If by some miracle we do not end up needing the full amount, I will ensure the fundraiser will be closed and only the necessary amount is needed as I continue to post updates.
