In Support of Eddie Thompson

Hello family and friends and whoever comes across this.

As some of you may know, after escaping an abusive situation, I moved to Florida to live with other family and get back on my feet. After doing so and obtaining my RBT certification and getting a job back in California to be closer to where I want to be in life, I was pretty quickly diagnosed with a 6cm ovarian cyst that has left me bedridden and unable to work until recovering from my scheduled surgery on November 19th.

Due to how temporary California disability works, they take my wages from the past year starting from 5 months before my disability would start. Due to my request being made on September 30th and my California wages starting in April of this year, it is one day from qualifying for any benefits despite working since moving here. My savings are almost completely depleted due to being unable to work and having to pay rent and my credit card payments (the debt growing since I have had no income for months at this point).

Anything and everything is so appreciated and I would be super grateful if you could help me out in whatever way you can. The 5k goal is less than what my disability would have been over the course of the 4 months being completely out of commission, but I'm feeling pretty discouraged about my financial prospects right now, so every little bit helps.
