Cruz’s story is one of resilience, faith, and infectious joy!
Born at just 23 weeks, he spent 7.5 months in the NICU fighting for his life. Today, he lives with his big brother Christian, who has cystic fibrosis, and his loving mom and dad- Lindsey and Jason. Every day brings challenges, as Cruz faces chronic lung disease, hydrocephalus with a shunt, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and cortical vision impairment. But he smiles right through them all!
2024 tested our family in ways we never imagined. Cruz endured 4 brain surgeries and 2 heart surgeries... all in one year. We spent 2025 focused on his healing… holding our breath through all of the hard days and celebrating the tiniest victories.
After all he’s overcome, Cruz is showing us something incredible: he’s ready!!! His brain seems to be re-awakening and his determination to do more, has returned! Watching him roll and army crawl toward his favorite toy may seem small to some, but to us, it’s a powerful sign of his strength, determination, and the hope we’ve clung to through every storm.
We’ve been researching several life-changing alternative therapies, which have shown real success for children like Cruz. Sadly, they aren’t covered by insurance, and the cost is overwhelming.
His first opportunity would be a two-week DMI intensive program at All Kids are Perfect in North Carolina. Because Cruz is nearing the weight limit for this program, time truly matters.
That’s why we’re taking a leap of faith... not just for Cruz, but for a bigger mission. We’re beginning the process of starting a nonprofit to continue to support his healing journey and, in time, to help other families like ours. There is so much ahead!
But right now, we need your help. No child should miss out on life-changing treatment because of financial barriers. Whether it’s through donating, sharing Cruz’s story, or connecting us with others who might want to join this mission… every prayer, every share, every dollar matters.
Together, we can give Cruz the chance he deserves.
