Let me first apologize for the delayed update. If you follow me on social media, you know that our second week in North Carolina started off great... but ended really hard. I've been diligent about updating my social media (if you're not following there, you should) and forgot to post an update here. I'm so sorry!

One of my biggest fears about traveling so far away from home, became our reality. Not long after Cruz went to bed on the night before his last day, he had a series of seizures that I couldn’t get under control, even with his rescue medication. I had to call an ambulance and rush him to the closest children’s hospital, where the team was able to stabilize him.

We went into this intensive DMI treatment hopeful but cautious. Terrified to let myself believe again… only to be heartbroken. But what we experienced was absolutely incredible. His heart, his drive, his determination… paired with the knowledge, care, and genuine compassion from the staff at All Kids Are Perfect… it lit something in him. It lit something in me. That tiny spark of hope started burning brighter every single day. And I felt it deep in my soul… with a lot of work and alot of prayers, our boy will have independence one day.

And then, just one day before we finished, everything came crashing down. His body hit its limit. New pathways overwhelmed his system. And seizures took over. It was sudden, terrifying, and heartbreaking.

The enemy saw the progress.
He saw the joy.
He saw the breakthrough forming.
And he struck fast, hoping to shake me and to make me question everything.

For a moment, I let him.
The guilt washed over me.
The fear crept back in.
The doubt whispered, “Maybe you pushed too hard. Maybe this is too much”.

But God.

In the quiet since coming home, He has reminded me…

The enemy does not get the final say.
Not in our home.
Not in our son’s story.

Cruz’s journey is a testimony in the making… one of resilience, miracles, and a mama who will never stop advocating, praying, fighting, and believing on his behalf.

We’re resting now. Healing.
Listening for God’s timing.

But I know this…
Cruz is not done.
God is not done.
This is only the beginning of his miracle!
