Charlie Mae Meza’s bucket list of adventures
In 2020 Charlie Mae Meza was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma, a form of brain cancer at the age of three years old. On October 5, 2021 Charlie rang the bell cancer free, but that wasn’t the end of Charlie’s courageous fight. A short three months later on December 7th Charlie’s parents got the call that Charlie had relapsed and would have to fight all over again but what they didn’t know was that Charlie’s fight would never end.
You would think as a parent hearing the words, your child has cancer would be the hardest words you would ever have to hear, but that’s wrong, the words we are only buying time is by far the most gut wrenching words a parent should never have to hear but unfortunately this is what the Meza family is going through.
Charlie’s cancer has been relentless and she hasn’t stopped fighting since her relapse in 2021. Through it all the Meza family has been a strong support system for so many families in our childhood cancer community and has helped so many families in need, all without asking for anything in return.
Our family first met sweet Charlie and her family in 2021 at a childhood cancer event and became fast friends. Charlie and Jocelyn are inseparable when they’re together and can’t wait to see each other again when they’re apart. When Taylor, Charlie’s mama got the call that Charlie relapsed we were one of the first to know and I will never forget the helplessness I felt not being able to be there for Taylor in person. Since that day we’ve gotten to spend a lot of time with the Meza family over the past couple years and have had countless conversations about the importance of making memories because you never know what tomorrow might bring.
I’ve started this Support Now fundraiser to raise money to help make Charlie’s bucket list come true and make lasting memories for the Meza family because honestly memories might be all that they might have left.
Charlie above all loves to spend time with her family, she loves to travel, loves amusement parks and loves seeing her friends.
Charlie’s bucket list is
- The Peppa Pig Theme Park in Texas and Hotel Stay
- Legoland 💛 ✅ and stay at a Legoland Hotel
- Visit Arizona Hotel & ride horses 💛✅
- Visit GKTW & see her star
- Go to Universal Studio Orlando to see Harry Potter area and make a wand
- Go to the snow and stay in a cabin 💛
- Birthday party w/ Blippy 💛✅
- Stay at a hotel by the beach💛
- Stay at the "Mansion" hotel with her brothers and parents💛
- Jolly Roger Land
- Bunnies and supplies 💛✅
💛’s means someone has offered to help with this particular bucket list item and ✅ means that Charlie has been able to check that item off of her list. (We removed Blippi in Vegas and added 2 other bucket list items).
We want to create some beautiful memories for sweet Charlie and her family, and not let cancer stand in their way.
